You have kids? You seem a little young for that. That perspective makes sense though, it's the type you would hear from people who have done service, isn't it? Are you a soldier, Guren?

No. I just don't agree with the way this one was set up. And I didn't mean the kid thing like that. They're not really my kids. I took in one of them after he escaped from a vampire city, but that's it.

I'm Lt. Colonel of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, which answers your other question, too. I lead the Moon Demon Company, and some of the newest members were kids from my class. About eight years ago, 90% of the human population was lost to a virus that attacked and instantly killed anyone over the age of 13. Only those with connections to high powers survived thanks to vaccines, if they were older.

Before you ask, no, it's not an army of demons. We're all just humans trying to survive.

Chemical warfare? That's horrifying. Unless it wasn't a human creation and natural event. Still, horrifying.

Are the vampires traditional ones? Drink blood, no sunlight, etc? And are demons the same as vampires or is it three categories: demons, vampires, humans?

I don't know what traditional is. Drink blood, normally can't go in the sun but they have special armbands that let them, don't need sleep, heal unnaturally quickly. You need a demon weapon to be able to injure them and have it last.

Demons are different. Most of the time, demons used to be vampires, but we don't know all that much about it. I'm human, but I have a black demon series weapon, which means there's a demon inside of my sword. Through a contract, I can use its power while staying in control myself. If I couldn't, I would have died trying to make it.

I suppose that's right. Back in my universe, they're a myth. A fictional creature created to explain the unexplainable. They seem similar enough to yours but instead of a demon weapon, you need a priest or a wooden stake through the heart. Religious iconography is their weakness since they're supposed to be creatures produced by the devil or Satan, if you know who he is.

Interesting. Entirely different context for demon where I come from as well. Where do your demons come from, if you're able to make a contract and control them through a weapon like that?

Most of the time, they're really strong vampires that died in some way. They can also be humans that were taken over by their demon completely, too.

Where do the humans that have these demons get them? Is it vampire -> demon or the demon appears from... somewhere else? Hell or Earth? The word itself, it comes from the original Greek, δαίμων which means deity or spirit, sometimes evil. Is that the case for you?
